OUR PEAT pledge

At Clover we believe Peat is a unique, organic wetland biomass formed as a result of natural processes in peatland eco-systems. The use of peat has significant positive effects on fulfilling people’s basic needs and in creating well-being. For instance, peat promotes healthy local food production and peat-based high value-added products purify habitats and enhance access to clean drinking water. The Sustainability Concept for peat describes the legislative and operational background of responsibly produced peat.

Clover is focused on balancing environmental responsibility with the practical use of peat-based products. This our sustainability concept:

01

Responsible Harvesting and Restoration

  • Implement selective extraction to minimize environmental impact.
  • Rehabilitate peatlands post-harvest through rewetting and reforestation.
  • Partner with conservation groups to ensure biodiversity protection.
02

Alternative and Innovative Products

  • Invest in peat-free and blended solutions for agriculture and gardening.
  • Explore sustainable packaging or energy alternatives using peat-derived materials.
  • Develop low-carbon processing methods to reduce emissions.
03

Carbon Management and Offsetting

  • Promote carbon-neutral operations, including offsets and responsible land management.
  • Support research into peat’s role in carbon sequestration and ecosystem health.
04

Ethical Supply Chain and Transparency

  • Ensure responsible sourcing with clear sustainability reporting.
  • Work with governments on peatland protection policies.
  • Educate consumers on best practices for using and replacing peat-based products.

These concepts position Clover as a leader in eco-conscious innovation while aligning with global sustainability efforts.
